**So I'm sadly still working on getting all the spare PC's in my room cleaned up and cleared out.. I'd probably be all set at this point if I it wasn't for this one stupid motherboard originally a DELL motherboard for a Pentium 1Ghz processor, it's refused to Post no matter what I try.. I tried different power supplies, ram/no-ram, various video cards .. absolutely squat.. I even pulled it from the case as you can see so that I could check on the diagnostic LED's they come with for the board (instead of beep-codes) .. no lights whatsoever I think it's dead for all intents 'n purposes. Unfortunately this was to be the motherboard for the PC that I was going to keep as a backup Fat lot of good that does me. So now I'm left trying to figure out what to do.. Do I keep one of the other PC's instead? Do I use the old AOpen AK77 600 MAX board that I upgraded from and just look for a new Athlon XP processer?!? Decisions, decisions. It's rather frustrating as I was hoping to get rid of these a whole lot faster, and thus be a whole lot closer to getting myself a netbook. **So a few days ago I turned 30. The Big 3-0. Another decade of my life on God's green earth gone. I'd like to think the past decade of my life has been probably the best yet. Even though I'm a lot more beatup physically and mentally, I think I have a lot more control over my life - a lot more freedom. I think I'll take that freedom over the innocence of youth anyday. Some thing about childhood were certainly great, make no mistake - but for the most part, the pressure I imposed upon myself and the lack of freedom I had are things I'm very happy to no longer have. Here's looking towards the best decade yet. (I hope). **PAX will be next weekend. As I type this, I just got an email saying that my tickets to see the Freezepop concert have been printed and will be mailed to me shortly. Good to hear. Sofar I'm almost more exicted to see the concert than I am to see any of the other stuff at PAX. I hope it lives up to all the hype. DragonCon certainly did. **As you can also see, I've joined twitter.com ... I decided it made sense to link it from my site as well. I've been updating there instead of facebook ... mainly so I don't bother a certain friend of mine, which I was afraid I might if I was appearing on their update list. |
